Update on Covid Restrictions
Update on Covid Restrictions

We thank everyone for their cooperation with the previous requirements and understand the sacrifice you have made for the good of the game and the community generally.

We are pleased that the State Government has announced a relaxation of the spectator restrictions for Community Sport which means that the previous limit of one parent no longer applies, and that spectators can attend adult matches again.

However, the following still applies:

To minimise spectator numbers it is encouraged that non-essential persons do not attend – especially those considered in high-risk categories.

Spectators and players must also leave the venue immediately their match is finished and not socialise at the venue.

Clubs must still comply with the Public Health Order and their Covid Safety Plans

Physical distancing rules must be observed – including in indoor spaces such as changerooms

Spectators must keep well clear of the technical area and spectators are to be positioned on the opposite side of the field to the technical area

A max of 500 people per venue applies – as a result of this, we are reviewing the schedule for Grand Final days to spread out the matches and will advise the new schedule asap

All of the previous safe practices such as not sharing water bottles, shaking hands etc still apply and anyone feeling unwell or has visited Victoria in the last 14 days must not attend matches or training.

Avoid carpools or bus travel with people from different household groups where possible. (If unavoidable then consider wearing face masks and ensure social distancing)

Covid-19 Update from NSW Health
Covid-19 Update from NSW Health

Following an announcement during the week from the NSW Chief Health Officer, additional requirements for community sport have come into force immediately for at least the next 6 weeks.

Attached is a statement from State Sporting Organisation CEOs along with FAQs from NSW Office of Sport

These additional requirements have come about as Community Sport is under the spotlight – implementation of Covid Safety plans is critical as is cooperation with NSW Health recommendations

  • NWSF competitions are unaffected, as the FAQs confirm that competitions within an Association boundary can continue even across multiple LGAs

However, to ensurethat we can complete our season, to observe our broader social responsibilities to the community and to comply with NSW Health recommendations and the Public Health Orders, from this weekend the following applies:

  • Face-to-face social activities are not permitted (e.g. post-training and post-match group dinners and sideline drinks, award ceremonies, end-of-season social gatherings)
  • Avoid carpools or bus travel with people from different household groups where possible. (If unavoidable then consider wearing face masks and ensure social distancing) ; and
  • Spectators are limited to one parent only for minis and youth age groups, where a child requires parental supervision. If a parent is attending as a coach or manager then this counts as the one parent and the other parent cannot attend.
  • To be clear, this means no spectators are permitted at adult matches (U21 and above).

We urge clubs to ensure their teams leave the venue immediately after their match and not loiter to socialise on the sideline. This includes PL & SL reserve grade teams who are to be told to leave the venue unless they are playing in the first grade match.

The existing social distancing and hygiene requirements still apply, and the above will be communicated directly to participants before this weekend.

We understand this additional responsibility this creates for clubs and your volunteers, but in the interests of getting our season completed, some short-term pain over the remaining weeks will ensure we can achieve this.

It is also understood that enforcing the no spectator rule will be problematic, but we ask clubs to communicate to their teams, players and parents to ensure that at least, their own club complies.

RETURN TO FOOTBALL TRAINING
RETURN TO FOOTBALL TRAINING
HERE IS THE TRAINING SCHEDULE FOR 2020
undefinedDear Players, Coaches and Parents

We can now officially resume football activities, albeit on a restricted basis and taking
care to maintain good hygiene protocols (as mandated by Government). As a Club, we ask that you adhere to
these rules and respond positively to the reasonable requests of the Club.

• Training can recommence immediately, but under strict rules limiting gatherings to groups of 10x, including a
coach / parent.
This means for most teams 2x coaches/parents are required.
For non-competition teams (U6-U11s), we are attempting to commence training on Saturday mornings.
More from your Age Manager once we have established if this a viable option (rather than evenings in
June).

• Plans are under development for an official start to the season on the first weekend in July, commencing
Friday, 3 July, with the majority of games on 4 July and some perhaps on 5 July. A draw will be circulated in
due course.
With this start date, and an extended season, it is anticipated a full league round of games can be achieved.
Grand finals, where applicable, may be limited to a Premiership 1st v 2nd finish.
There will be NO reschedules for any washout round.
• Below is important information that players, coaches and guardians of our younger members should
familiarise yourself with.
We thank you for your patience and support.

Please read all the information supplied in this document as all players and parents must follow the guidelines
and logistical expectations to keep everyone safe. Your Age Managers will supply Coaches and Managers
with additional information.

We have designed the drop off (arrival) and pick up times for Training to create the best social distance flow for
the squads.

Training will be in a Max 10 - No contact format until advised otherwise.
Parent/s / Guardians:
• It is very important that you adhere to your team’s training timings to help us minimise interaction between
groups.
Drop off – limited to players and coaches only. Parents, please stay in your car.
Unfortunately, you can’t stay and watch training. Only managers and those with volunteer roles will be
allowed on or around the training facility. You can, however, wait in your cars.
• If players are waiting to enter the training facility, they must maintain social distance (1.5 metres) and must
not interact with the other groups. On arrival
We may be temperature testing players, which does not involve any touching of players.
Parent pick up - you must wait by your vehicle, maintaining social distance until your child is ready to be
picked up.
They will be held at a safe point to avoid children walking or running across the carpark.
• We suggest players do not carpool at this time due to social distancing.
• Ensure players have their kit, own water bottle and we suggest their own sanitiser (consider labelling)
• Players must not attend if they show COVID symptoms or are in contact with someone who has had COVID.
• We strongly recommend parents/players download and enable the COVID SAFE App.
• We are currently investigating the use of Team App to assist with the management of training. A separate
communication will be sent in due course, if Team App is considered to be a useful tool.
• Go through the player information (which you should receive via your team’s coach / manager and this
document and logistics with your child. If you do not receive anything from your coach / manager, please
contact your Age Manager (details for whom are on the Club website by selecting the “The Club” drop down
box).
Players:
• Players must arrive at their training venue at their stated arrival times (not earlier) and go straight to
designated area.
o Synthetic is marked into thirds for training, accordingly, arriving teams should gather on the lower tier
adjacent to the third of the field which they have been allocated for the evening’s training session.
• No socialising by players before or after training, please leave promptly to minimise interaction with other
groups of players.

• Training Information:
o 10 players/coach training in team designated area only (social distancing). You may need to split your
designated area into two in order to accommodate two groups of up to 10.
o The team coach is encouraged to organise training squads (2x10 players/coach) in advance.
Hence, it is important to communicate with your coach / manager and be on time to help with this
organisation. Without your commitment, valuable training time will be wasted for ALL.
o While FNSW suggests leaving your bag 2 metres from your team-mates, Penno suggests leaving it in
your car and arrive dressed ready to play.
o No physical contact during training (e.g. tackling) and keep social distance at all times.
o NO sharing of drink bottles. Consider labelling your own drink bottle.
o While the Club will provide hand sanitisers, players are encouraged to bring their own.
o Use sanitiser (your coach will have some) regularly, each team will be provided with a supply.
o If you are given a bib, please treat this bib as your responsibility for the session, take it home, wash
it. You will be expected to keep it and use for the remainder of the season (unless otherwise
advised).
o Absolutely NO Spitting on the ground. If you are observed doing so, you will may be asked to leave,
and the session may be abandoned.
o Changerooms will NOT be available AND you should NOT use the water bubblers.
o There will be ONLY LIMITED use of toilets (social distance and hygiene required whilst using these).
Only 2 people can enter at a time.
Hopefully, by following the above guidelines, we can all enjoy a safe and enjoyable return to football.
Following these rules is important to ensure that there is NO second wave and that the next step for
football is a return to game play, currently scheduled for the first weekend in July.
I hope to be in touch soon with more details regarding to the planned return to game play, including gameday
guidelines, and if we are fortunate enough and well-behaved as community, a further relaxation in
protocols.

Yours in football, stay safe, stay well and most of all welcome back to football.
Go Penno

Life Membership - Gladesville Hornsby Football Association (GHFA) - Grahame Bateman
In a fitting end to an era, following the merger of GHFA with North West Sydney Women’s Football Association (“NWSWFA”), Grahame Bateman (“GB”) was awarded life membership of GHFA in recognition of his contribution to all things Penno FC, the greater GHFA and NWSWFA and our broader Pennant Hills community.
Peter Quessy spoke on behalf of Penno FC as the nominator at last night’s Final GHFA, thanking GHFA and those involved for their service to our football community, as well as highlighting GB’s many achievements.

Life Membership - Tim House
7 Sep 19 - Life membership - Tim House
At our 2019 Presentation Day, on 7 September, we announced the award of new life membership.
Our newest life-member arrived in Pennant Hills in 2003; and is another example of one of our Penno Juniors that may always have seemed destined for our Premier League squad, first playing for Premier League in 2005.
He first played for Penno in the U10-3s in 2004.  By his mid-late teens, he was playing Division 1 football and would soon capture the attention of Premier League, as a fleet-footed left-back with blistering pace.
He is a committed Christian and was leading his Church’s Beach Mission on the South Coast last Christmas when on the first day while surfing, he broke a number of vertebrae.
Last week, he came home from rehab after his family home in Pennant Hills was converted to accommodate his needs.
We were extremely delighted, and I know that he was too, that he was able to join us at our recent Back to Penno Day and toss the coin for the First-Grade game.  It was a small step, but an important step of returning to his and our community.
As a Club Like No Other – we wanted to do something to ensure that he remains a strong part of our football community.  Conferring Life-Membership is a small thing that we can do to ensure that he remains a part of our Club well into the future.
Please join me in congratulating Tim House on becoming the newest life-member of Pennant Hills Football Club.
If you see Tim around, please stop and say hello.
Thank-you.

Tony Macko    President - Pennant Hills FC
