Life Membership - Tim House
7 Sep 19 - Life membership - Tim House
At our 2019 Presentation Day, on 7 September, we announced the award of new life membership.
Our newest life-member arrived in Pennant Hills in 2003; and is another example of one of our Penno Juniors that may always have seemed destined for our Premier League squad, first playing for Premier League in 2005.
He first played for Penno in the U10-3s in 2004.  By his mid-late teens, he was playing Division 1 football and would soon capture the attention of Premier League, as a fleet-footed left-back with blistering pace.
He is a committed Christian and was leading his Church’s Beach Mission on the South Coast last Christmas when on the first day while surfing, he broke a number of vertebrae.
Last week, he came home from rehab after his family home in Pennant Hills was converted to accommodate his needs.
We were extremely delighted, and I know that he was too, that he was able to join us at our recent Back to Penno Day and toss the coin for the First-Grade game.  It was a small step, but an important step of returning to his and our community.
As a Club Like No Other – we wanted to do something to ensure that he remains a strong part of our football community.  Conferring Life-Membership is a small thing that we can do to ensure that he remains a part of our Club well into the future.
Please join me in congratulating Tim House on becoming the newest life-member of Pennant Hills Football Club.
If you see Tim around, please stop and say hello.

Tony Macko    President - Pennant Hills FC

James Hanselmann plays fullback for Penno U/16-3.
He’s scored a few goals in his 10 years with Penno, but never 2 in the same game.
Recently he did indeed score 2 goals, helping Penno to a 3-1 win.
After the match, his “golden” boots were observed to be mainly silver.
Not willing to part with his favourite boots, despite considerable wear and tear, James had held them together with duct tape.
The photos here show plenty of tape but not much boot.
Any duct tape distributor wanting a good marketing angle, should contact James and hear the full story! (submitted by Bruce Thomson)

There have been changes and it is important that the draw is checked by all managers every Thursday.
Some fixtures from the first 4 rounds have either been rescheduled or moved to a different ground. Please note this and check the fixtures and their location before each game.

Round 3 on 2 June 2019
Pennant Hills Under 18 RED lost to Forest Killarney FC 2-1 after defeating in Round 2 Oran Park Rangers 2-1. They had a bye in Round 1.
Played Forest Killarney losing 2-1 with 11 players after losing Mitch Haigh with a torn meniscus early in the first half. The game was 1-1 at HT & second half fairly even. We had chances to equalise for 2-2 however Forest Killarney are mostly an 18’s team & I think would have probably scored a third had we managed to take the game to extra time.
Congratulations to the Under 18 RED for a great effort in getting to Round 3 of the State Cup.

Fantastic News Penno Sport Community Clubhouse is really going to happen!.
Our Federal Member, Julian Leeser, has helped bring the Soccer, AFL, Rugby, Cricket and Little Athletics Clubhouse facility for Ern Holmes Oval closer to reality with funding of $500,000.  This brings the funding total to $1,500,000 for the project and now a reality for building works to be not far off now.
Funding for this project is the result of many years of work between the sporting groups and Julian and continues his long-standing support of our local community. The facility/meeting rooms and amenities will also prove to be a great venue for other volunteer groups within our community that will all be able to use the facility.
This is great news for all of us but more so for the kids and their futures as we continue to work on the constant improvements to our sports facilities.
Go Penno! and thanks to Julian,
